Two J’s Metalwork was pleased to be involved in this residential development, delivering a complete package of architectural metalwork across three key stages of the build. From fabricating a custom steel staircase to installing ten balconies and the final front entrance balustrade, our team worked closely with the client to ensure every element was manufactured and installed to the highest standard.
By carrying out most of the fabrication and assembly in our workshop, we were able to make the installation process on site safer, more efficient and less disruptive.
The first stage of the project was the manufacture of a steel staircase, built to the architect’s detailed design. Before leaving our workshop, the staircase was fully assembled to check that every section fitted together perfectly and met our quality standards.
Once complete, the staircase was transported to site and carefully craned into position. After it had been securely installed, our team fitted a white-painted steel balustrade, providing a clean, modern finish while ensuring the staircase met all necessary safety requirements.
The next phase involved the manufacture of ten balconies for the development. Each balcony was fabricated, assembled and powder coated in our workshop before being delivered to site.
Completing as much of the work as possible off site meant the balconies arrived ready for installation, with only the final connection to the building required. This approach helped improve site safety, reduced installation time and ensured a consistently high-quality finish across every balcony.
Once the steelwork had been installed, we complemented each balcony with toughened glass balustrades and aluminium decking, incorporating an integrated drainage system to create practical, low-maintenance outdoor spaces that complement the overall design of the building.
The final phase – Balustrade at the rear of the property. Once Phase 1 & 2 were complete, our final task was to fabricate and install the balustrade to the rear of the properties, which was powder-coated in anthracite grey to match the balconies.
This project is a great example of how careful planning and off-site fabrication can help deliver complex metalwork efficiently without compromising on quality. By manufacturing and assembling most of the steelwork in our workshop before delivery, we were able to minimise work on site while maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
