We handle the whole process for custom structural steelwork with collaboration and extraordinary accuracy.
- Design and consultation
Before we do anything else, we’ll work closely with you to understand your particular needs, whether you’re extending a residential property, completing a new build or a commercial scheme, allowing us to tailor the design precisely to your own requirements. Thanks to our use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to create detailed 3D models and CAD drawings, we always give clients a clear visual representation of the proposed design ahead of construction. (Although in some cases a skilful, hand-drawn sketch can also be highly effective.)
If necessary, our surveyors will do a site visit to take measurements. But, whatever we do, we remain in constant contact with the client.
- Fabrication
We use materials of the highest quality, in the interests of safety and durability. Meanwhile, we carry out the fabrication process under closely monitored conditions, with consistent document traceability for complete quality control.
At the same time, we follow EXC3 standards for fabrication, which is evidence of our high standards of control and quality. (This outlines the requirements for fabricating structural steel and aluminium components in construction and civil engineering.)
All items undergo a thorough final quality-control check before leaving us.
- Installation
Every job includes delivery of the completed steel project to the client site, plus its installation. When it comes to this stage of the project, we offer effective steel-erecting so that this element forms a safe, seamless part of the overall process.
An engineer marks out the precise location of each post and fixing hole on the site where the structure will go before work begins.
We use specialist equipment such as cranes and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). This lifts the steelwork into the right place, in accordance with the CAD drawings. At the same time, we coordinate and work with other trades so that everyone meets their deadlines.
- Post-installation
Our involvement doesn’t stop after completion of a project. We provide ongoing technical assistance and guidance; equally, we can continue to help with the necessary maintenance and upkeep of the installed metalwork.
