This case study is a steel walkway for a plant room in the new Brighton hospital. The project was to create a safe working access deck within the plant room. It posed many challenges due to the complexity of the environment. We worked very closely with other contractors on the site in order to design and fabricate a suitable structure.
For this job we fabricated a steel frame to form a structure above the pipe work for the mesh flooring to bear on. We opted for open mesh flooring to ensure visibility to the infrastructure that may otherwise have been hidden and a steel handrail. This enabled workmen to safely walk throughout the room.
The extensive planning and preparation for this contact enabled the installation process to run smoothly. The steelwork was fabricated in small sections to enable manoeuvrability as it had to be craned to the roof of the hospital then translocated to the plant room.
Take a look at the PDF from the CAD drawings produced by our draughtsman for our fabricators to work from.
The main contractor at Brighton hospital has been very pleased with our quality of work and professionalism of our staff when on site. We are continuing to work on the construction of the new Brighton hospital.
