This supply and installation contract of a large balcony framework and balustrade involved both steelwork and a glass balustrade for a beautifully renovated farm building. We worked from CAD drawings produced by our draftsmen following their detailed site survey. The fabrication of the steelwork was completed by our experienced fabricators and transported to the site in East Sussex. The steel frame was powder coated anthracite grey to give a shiny appearance accompanied by a long lasting, quality finish. The steel balustrade and glass panels were also installed by our erectors.
Rather than opting for just an access stair to the building and instead including the balcony deck this has helped create a usable outside space for the occupants to enjoy whilst proving an aesthetically pleasing contrast between the modern design of the balcony and the rejuvenated farm barn.
The wide durbar stairs allow easy access and grip underfoot provided by the raised durbar pattern on the treads. To allow the deck to be used to its full capacity as safely as possible we introduced a safety gate at the top of the stairs. The steel handrail to the stairs is a simple design to suit its practical function.
